A – ah de Ana
B – beh de burro
C – seh de casa OR César
*if the vowels E or I follow the letter C, it is pronounced like an S (Ex. Cielo, cerca) otherwise it is pronounced like a K (Ex. Cuerpo, condición)
D – deh de dedo
E – eh de Eduardo
F – efeh de foco
G – heh de gato OR género
*if the vowels E or I follow the G, it is pronounced like “heh” (Ex. girasol, genaro), otherwise it is pronounced like a regular G
H – acheh de historia
*remember: the H is silent in Spanish! So “historia” is pronounced like “istoria”
CH- cheh de churro
I – ee de Inés
J – hota de julio
K- kah de kilo
L – elle de loco
LL – elle doble de lluvia
M – eme de mama
N – ene de no
Ñ – enye de niño
O – oh de hola
P – peh de Pedro
Q – kuu de queso
R – erre de Ramón OR arena
*If the R is in the beginning of the word, it has a strong sound, if it is within the word, it has a softer sound.
RR- erre de perro
*for the double R, remember to roll you R strongly
S – ese de sol
T – teh de tonto
U – uh de huracan
V – uhve de vaca
W – doble veh de Washington
X – equis de Mexico
Y – ee griega de vaya
Z – seta de zanahoria
