In today’s free Spanish lesson, we will be learning about numbers in Spanish. Ordinal numbers are adjectives we use to put nouns in order in a series. (So 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so forth.) The Spanish ordinal numbers precede the noun in most cases, and like any other adjective in Spanish, can be masculine, feminine, or plural, depending on the noun.

Also, keep in mind some people might say “Soy el número treinta” instead of “Soy el trigésimo.” Which translates into “I am number 30.”

Great, now that you have the hang of it we can move on to some examples:

-El noveno grado no es tan difícil. = Ninth grade is not that difficult.

-Este es nuestro décimo aniversario de bodas = This is our 10th         wedding anniversary.

– La octava canción en el álbum es buena = The eighth song of the album is good.

-Este es el séptimo intent = This is the 7th attempt

– ¿Él está en quinto grado? – Is he in 5th grade?
